2 Slight enlargement of left ventricle of heart associated with a mild to moderate degree of atheroma of coronary arteries – insufficient to cause death.
Death primarily the result of No 1 head injury
Pathological opinions on the cause of Pulmonary Oedema
No 2 Above might be at varience with a ‘ Cerebral Lung’ explanation e.g. inhalation of vomit , no evidence on clothes or at scene or heart disease – not severe.
Further investigation : Micropsy for evidence of hypertension
2 Neuropathological opinion on brain. Report in early August ‘85

In the opening pages of the Book of Evidence a key witness who was present in Kilcoursey house is dismissed as not important because he was not in the house at a certain time that evening.
This comment made by a senior Garda Completely contradicts the witness’s own signed statement which is included later on in the report.
No one has picked up on this despite it having been examined again by Gardai, the DPP’s office, Dept.of Justice experts and Journalists who have reviewed the case.
A local Guard in Clara told my late brother Ian Maher ” Your Uncle wasn’t killed :he was slaughtered” The above cutting is from a UK newspaper nearly 30 years ago. The same Garda also told my brother that there was Politicians leaping over hedges the night Niall was killed

The family met with the Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald in early July 2015 and presented her with evidence which she described as ” Very disturbing”. We have yet to hear from her regarding our meeting.
Veronica Guerin was murdered 19 years ago today. I met Veronica a number of times, when she was investigating the murder of my Uncle Fr Niall Molloy. She was still working on Niall’s case the week before her own murder.
